About Our School
Mission Statement
The mission of Green Oaks Fundamental, a school of high expectations and shared responsibility between staff, students and families, is to ensure all students reach beyond academic standards to achieve excellence, a love of learning, and integrity through quality instruction and collaboration in a highly structured, safe, nurturing environment.
Our program places a strong emphasis on:
- developing literacy
- mathematical competency
- higher order thinking
- productive learning habits
- effective study skills
We accomplish this by maintaining a highly structured learning environment with high standards for the academic and social behavior of students. Our school, working in cooperation with the home, strives towards instilling in each student a sense of responsibility, citizenship, and pride in accomplishments.
The California Department of Education's Distinguished Schools Program honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Green Oaks is proud to have been selected as a California Distinguished School.
Green Oaks consistently earns one of the highest Academic Performance Index scores for the region (CAASP Testing). We attribute that success as a direct result of our highly involved parent population, our commitment to a fundamental educational philosophy and our extraordinarily committed and innovative staff.
